ASL story series planned at five Onondaga County libraries
A bedtime story program from the Onondaga County Public Library and Aurora of CNY includes American Sign Language interpretation and activities for children who sign.
The Onondaga County Public Library and Aurora of CNY are presenting a bedtime story series at five libraries across Onondaga County. A sign-language specialist signs along with each story as it is read aloud.
The program is open to children who use American Sign Language, as well as hearing children with signing family members. Sessions also include ASL vocabulary from the book and alphabet practice. The series began at Lafayette Library in August, with four additional sessions planned in the coming months.
