Clayton’s annual Punkin’ Chunkin’ festival is scheduled for Oct. 17 at Frink Park, with pumpkin-chunking events, a farmers market, shuttles and a barbecue contest.
Clayton’s annual Punkin’ Chunkin’ festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, at Frink Park. Three shuttle buses, including one wheelchair-accessible vehicle, are planned to run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Cerow Recreation Park Arena, Guardino Elementary, downtown and a stop in front of Bellas.
The event is set to include a farmers market on Riverside Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., youth pumpkin-chunking at 11 a.m. and adult practice and competition rounds during the afternoon. Barbecue meals will be available beginning at 11 a.m., with public tastings from 2 to 3 p.m. Awards for the barbecue contest are scheduled for 4 p.m., and net profits from the barbecue will be donated to local charities.
