Brig. Gen. Joseph Ewers has assumed command of Fort Drum’s 10th Mountain Division, following Maj. Gen. Scott Naumann’s two-year tenure. Naumann is moving to a position at the Pentagon, while Ewers is coming to Fort Drum after serving in a senior operations role with U.S. Army Europe and Africa in Germany.
The change-of-command ceremony also marked Ewers’ arrival in the North Country. He said he plans to maintain the division’s strong relationship with the surrounding community and build on its existing success.
