Massena judge orders conditions before two dogs can return home
A judge ordered the owner of two Cane Corsos to follow existing restrictions, pay a $100 fine and obtain insurance before the dogs can return home after a June incident involving a neighbor’s dog.

A judge has ordered the owner of two Cane Corsos in Massena to continue following restrictions on the dogs, pay a $100 fine and obtain a $100,000 insurance policy before they can return home. The order followed a June incident in which a neighbor’s dog was seriously injured and later euthanized, according to initial reports.
The restrictions require the dogs to remain in an enclosed space or be leashed while an adult is present. Animal control had temporarily taken the dogs to the Massena Humane Society. The owner disputes claims that the dogs are dangerous and says pets had entered his property. The neighbor who filed the dangerous-dog complaint said she plans to continue seeking their removal from the neighborhood.
