Massena village trustees awarded Jada Environmental Services a $43,430 contract to demolish an unsafe property at 17 King St.
Massena village trustees awarded Jada Environmental Services a $43,430 contract to demolish the unsafe property at 17 King St. Contractors had until Aug. 6 to submit bids, and the work was expected to be completed by the end of December at the latest, Mayor Gregory M. Paquin said.
The property was cited by the village Code Enforcement Office in 2024 for unsafe conditions. Trustees had previously given the property owner 30 days to secure the building and until spring to address the safety issues or sell the house. Code Enforcement Officer Tyler Mulvenna later requested bids after the office received no response regarding repairs or a sale, the report said.
