The Village of Potsdam plans to excavate portions of some residents’ yards as it works to complete an inventory of lead service lines, village officials said at an Aug. 18 Board of Trustees meeting.

Village Administrator Isabelle Gates-Shult said the initial ElectroScan method did not work and that the village is considering another approach for testing lead service laterals.
