Potsdam Reminds Residents of Rules for Curbside Waste and Debris

Potsdam’s code enforcement office is reminding residents that furniture, household waste and construction debris must be disposed of properly rather than left at the curb.

GovernmentUpdated

Potsdam Village Code Enforcement Officer Greg Thompson told village trustees and the mayor on Aug. 17 that the village has received an above-average number of complaints involving trash and waste.

The reminder includes furniture, mattresses, bed frames, appliances and other debris. The village’s Department of Public Works will not collect construction debris placed along the road, and property owners are responsible for disposing of it lawfully. Residents who keep garbage on their property or violate the local trash ordinance could face fines, Thompson said.
