The William H. Bush Memorial Library in Martinsburg and the Port Leyden Community Library each received a $50 award through the North Central Zone of Retired Educators of New York’s Love Your Public Library project. The libraries were among five recipients, with the other three in Jefferson County, and may use the money where it is most needed.
Patricia Dietrich, the project chair, presented the Bush library’s award Sept. 16. Board Treasurer Nelson Schwartzentruber accepted it. Port Leyden Community Library Director Jake Myers accepted that library’s award Sept. 22. The project is funded by members and distributes awards through drawings held at June and September luncheon meetings.
