
Watertown event will mark International Overdose Awareness Day
ACR Health plans a free Saturday event on Public Square in Watertown to remember people who have died from overdoses and provide education and harm-reduction resources.
ACR Health plans a free International Overdose Awareness Day event from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday on Public Square in Watertown. The event will include memorial displays, guest speakers, information from about 10 community organizations, Narcan training and free Narcan, according to the event information.
The event will also include a DJ, photo booth, face and rock painting, a community canvas and refreshments donated by Stewart’s Shops. International Overdose Awareness Day is observed Aug. 31. The event is intended for people who use drugs, people in recovery and others seeking information about overdose prevention and support.
