Mayor Sarah Pierce named Kathy Plante-Hunt Watertown’s Citizen of the Quarter for nearly two decades of volunteer work at Arsenal Street Cemetery.

Watertown Mayor Sarah Pierce named Kathy Plante-Hunt the city’s Citizen of the Quarter for her volunteer work maintaining and beautifying Arsenal Street Cemetery.
Pierce presented the award Oct. 24, 2026, while Plante-Hunt, her husband Scott and other volunteers cleaned the cemetery for Make a Difference Day. Plante-Hunt began working at the cemetery in 2007 as a homeschool project with her son, and the effort continued as a way to care for the site and preserve local history.
The city’s Citizen of the Quarter program recognizes residents for volunteerism, leadership and community service. The city says residents can nominate someone through the Mayor’s Office.
